WHY OLD AGE HOMES
As we age, our need for care and support can increase, particularly if we are living in poverty or without family or friends to rely on. For many elderly individuals in India, this can be a daily reality.
In India, where nearly 20% of the population lives below the poverty line, older adults are particularly vulnerable to financial hardship. Many retirees in poverty lack access to basic necessities like food, shelter and healthcare.
This struggle can be especially difficult for those who don’t have family or friends to support them. Social isolation can make it hard for seniors to find work or access services that could help improve their situation. Without a support system, many elderly individuals are left feeling helpless and alone.

What Vanessa do

One of the ways in which the Vanessa Welfare Foundation supports elderly care homes is by providing them with financial assistance. This assistance helps to cover the costs of food, medical supplies, and other essential needs for the residents of the home. Without this kind of support, it would be difficult for care homes to continue providing quality care to their residents.
In addition to financial support, the Vanessa Welfare Foundation also provides volunteers who assist with various tasks. These volunteers help with cooking meals for the residents, organizing activities and events, and providing companionship and support for those who are feeling lonely or isolated.
